Many of our colleagues are active participants in local community organisations, both in and out of company time. Our company-sponsored Arrow Global Engage programme – run for and by employees – enables colleagues to spend company time throughout the year volunteering for charity or community projects.
Through the Engage programme, colleagues support a number of community-based initiatives, such as a budgeting workshop for young people and assembling Christmas care packages for underprivileged families. Via the Engage programme, other fundraising activities have included abseiling, the Greater Manchester Marathon and the Three Peaks Challenge.
We work closely with the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) and a range of debt charities, including StepChange, which we supported once again this year, by taking part in and publicising ‘Debt Awareness Week’. In addition to supporting charities like these, we support charities local to our sites; such as Oakwood Academy, the youth and education charity, City Year, and the Christie Charity in Manchester; the Beatson Cancer Centre in Glasgow; the children and young people’s charity, Creating Futures, in Farnborough, Hampshire; and the family education, rehabilitation and care charity, Cerci Oeiras, in Lisbon.
We also support colleagues’ contributions to the community by matching funds raised by them for our chosen charities and we encourage our staff to volunteer and assist local community organisations, both in and out of company time.
